Why Does Sun Exposure Make Them Stand Out?
This is one of the most confusing parts.
The affected areas don’t tan normally, while the surrounding skin becomes darker after sun exposure.
As a result, patches that were barely noticeable before summer can suddenly appear much whiter against tanned skin.
This doesn’t necessarily mean the condition suddenly appeared because of the sun.
It may simply have become easier to see.
