Step 1: Prepare the Zucchini

Start by washing the zucchini and cutting them into thin slices.

A mandoline can make it easier to create evenly sized slices, but a sharp knife works too.

Sprinkle the slices lightly with salt and let them sit for about 15 minutes.

This step is important because zucchini naturally contains a lot of water.

Afterward, gently pat the slices dry with paper towels.

Removing excess moisture helps prevent the finished lasagna from becoming watery.
