Why Does One McDonald’s Have Turquoise Arches?

And it worked.

Instead of looking like a giant yellow advertisement against the landscape, the restaurant has become a distinctive part of Sedona itself.

Is It Really the Only One?

The Sedona location is widely recognized as the only McDonald’s in the world with turquoise arches. An Arizona food-safety newsletter published in 2026 also identifies the Sedona restaurant as the only McDonald’s with blue/turquoise arches.

There are other McDonald’s locations that have used nontraditional arch colors, but Sedona’s turquoise version is particularly famous.

A McDonald’s That Became a Tourist Attraction

Ironically, changing the famous golden arches so they would blend into the scenery made this restaurant more memorable, not less.

Visitors frequently stop to photograph the unusual sign, and the location has become a small attraction in its own right. The turquoise arches have even inspired recent McDonald’s-related marketing and collaborations.

So the next time you see a photo of a McDonald’s with blue-green arches, remember:

It isn’t a strange new logo. It’s the famous Sedona McDonald’s—a rare example of a global brand adapting its look to fit the character of a local community.
