What looked like something strange and potentially alarming turned out to have a surprisingly ordinary explanation.

It all started when a parent was cleaning a teenage son’s bedroom and noticed several small, pale fragments underneath the bed. They looked brittle, dusty, and completely unfamiliar.

For a moment, the discovery raised plenty of questions.

Was it something dangerous? Mold? A piece of insulation? Some kind of unusual object that had been forgotten?

It was white cheddar cheese.
