Step 1: Choose a Fresh Potato
Wash a raw potato thoroughly.
You don’t need a large potato. A small one is enough for preparing a couple of thin slices.
Step 2: Chill It
Place the potato in the refrigerator for a while.
The goal is simply to make it cool—not frozen.
Step 3: Cut Two Thin Slices
Cut two thin, smooth slices that can comfortably rest over your closed eyes.
Avoid slices with rough edges.
Step 4: Close Your Eyes and Relax
Place the cool slices over your closed eyelids for approximately two minutes.
Don’t press down on your eyes.
Simply relax and let the cooling sensation do its job.
Step 5: Remove and Rinse
Remove the slices and gently rinse the skin if necessary.
You may notice that the area looks temporarily less swollen and feels refreshed.
Don’t Put Potato Juice Directly Into Your Eyes
This is important.
A potato is a food, not an eye-care product.
Keep the slices over your closed eyelids and avoid getting raw potato juice into your eyes. If you experience burning, redness, itching, or irritation, remove the slices and rinse the area with clean water.
People with sensitive skin should also be cautious with any homemade treatment.
